1,300 Attendees from across the globe flock to Downtown L.A. to discuss the future of urban mobility
LOS ANGELES, California – Today, LA CoMotion, the leading global event bringing together the key players of urban mobility, opened its doors to a host of international attendees in the heart of the Downtown Los Angeles (L.A.) Arts District. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti kicked off the event with a rousing welcoming keynote that expressed his commitment to strengthening the city’s current position as the ultimate testing ground for innovative mobility technologies.

From November 15-16, the LA CoMotion Leadership Conference will bring together more than 85 speakers from over 30 countries to discuss the current market landscape and the impact policy and technology will have on the future of the urban mobility. The second day of the conference will mark the inaugural Hack.LAMobility, an unprecedented 24-hour mobility Hackathon, in partnership with moovel, an urban mobility company, and DigitalLife@Daimler, a leader of transportation digitization. The country’s finest mobility geeks will be coding their way to a new mobility future and competing for an all-inclusive paid trip to Berlin for the Tech Open Air festival.
Last but not least, following two days of engaging programming and networking opportunities, LA CoMotion will be open to the general public, free-of-charge, for the LA CoMotion Mobility Festival, a fun day packed with interactive exhibits, workshops, demonstrations, tours, test tracks, and street activations. Global architectural firm Woods Bagot will present their fascinating research on the repurposing of parking places in the city of Los Angeles, exploring how a shift in planning could provide dwellings for 3 million people. The Woods Bagot 3D data visualization tool will adjust itself live to different density scenarios, inviting Angelenos to own the development process of their city.
