September 11, 2019

— Metro CEO Philip A. Washington and Chief Innovation Officer Joshua Schank to speak at prestigious mobility event November 14 & 15

Los Angeles, CA, September 11, 2019 – CoMotion LA today announced the return of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) as the premiere mobility event’s Title Partner. The third edition of the event, bringing together global leaders of the mobility revolution, takes place November 14-15, 2019. The event gathers around 2,000 stakeholders from more than 40 countries.

This marks the third year of Metro’s significant involvement in the event and comes at an exciting time as the agency spearheads a number of transformational transportation projects across the country’s most populous and most diverse county.

This year, Metro’s CEO Philip A. Washington and Chief Innovation Officer Joshua Schank will both speak, and their colleague Nadine Lee, Chief of Staff will moderate. They will touch on such pivotal topics as congestion relief pricing, transportation network companies and partnerships between transit agencies and new mobility companies.

“The transportation industry is changing radically, and we are now poised to implement our vision for how we move one of the largest, most populous counties in this nation,” said Phillip A. Washington, Metro CEO. “CoMotion affords us the opportunity to share our innovative vision for L.A.’s better mobility with an international audience. Let us all learn from each other on ways to best pursue a bold new urban future.”

John Rossant, CEO of CoMotion and Chairman of the NewCities Foundation, said “LA Metro’s vision forms the backbone of Los Angeles’ urban transformation and is an example for other American and international transit agencies in delivering more inclusive, sustainable and comprehensive transportation. We are excited to welcome our Metro friends back to CoMotion to share their vision for building the transportation networks of tomorrow with other leaders in the field.”
